“You get back here right now! You think you can take my food and now get spanked!”

“You didn’t see that did you?”

An anxious smile appeared on his face,
as he quickly hid his hands behind his
back. If the situation seemed any more
comical he would have a big sweat drop
rolling down the side of his head.

“Hey there cutie! You wanna dance?

“I just bought a phone…. not quite sure how to use it.”

“You know you just have to ASK. I’m not an unreasonable person.”

“I think if you keep babbling, I might have to cut your throat. Or mine.”

Sweat beads raced down the side of head as manoeuvred back and forth through the frigid air. His body spiralled and turned, leaping through and about swinging logs with his rapier in hand. He breathed deeply, allowing air to fill his lungs with every strike and with every strike, he could feel the burn of lactic acids, surge through his body. Dodging, striking and dodging again, Klaus made it look like a dance. His moved to the rhythm if his heart. His movements were poised, actions purposeful.

Yet, he could think of only one thing, that he needed to be better. His failings had cost those close to him dearly and him, a gaping wound in his side. He attempted to rid his mind of all other thoughts, trying to focus wholly on his blade, on the logs swinging around him. on the targets that hung mid-air. But it was harder than he thought, images of his loses and shortcomings plagued him. He gripped his rapier tighter, grit his teeth and a determined look was painted across his face.

Then a figure came into view, a strange figure.

A somebody he could not recognise. Klaus believed he was alone, only he could enter the Green Grove and even so, there was this strange figure standing. Watching. The temporary distraction caused a great lapse in concentration. With that came one of the swinging logs,  slamming itself against his side. The side of wound. Pain quaked his whole being, with the wound at its epicentre. His rapier disintegrated into light and Klaus collapsed to the ground, writhing in pain. The logs ceased swinging and the targets fell.

“Ahhh…” Pain blurred his vision.
